A flexible Kure Beach and Fort Fisher day trip
Keep this outing flexible: choose Joe Eakes for a playground and picnic stop, Ocean Front Park for an oceanfront pause, or Fort Fisher State Recreation Area for beach access and a marsh-side walk. You do not need to fit all three into one day.

Choose the main stop
Start with the activity that matters most. Joe Eakes has town-documented playground and shaded picnic facilities. Ocean Front Park is near the fishing pier. Fort Fisher documents ocean access, picnicking and a trail. Leave space in the day for travel and breaks.
Know which access you are using
Fort Fisher’s ordinary day use and four-wheel-drive beach access have different fee arrangements. A foot-rinse station is documented; that is not a claim that full public showers are provided. Consult NC State Parks for fees and current facilities.
Treat the plan as a menu
These are optional combinations, not a timed route with verified drive durations. Check parking and opening information for the stops you select. If a facility is unavailable, choose a shorter outing rather than depending on every part of an itinerary.
